Levitunturi represents the very best and most diverse natural scenery of Lapland. The free-flowing waters of the Ounasjoki river tempt you to row in it, while hikers find the treeless fell heights irresistible and no fly-fisherman worthy of the name could pass up the opportunity to try his skill in the small rivers. Surrounded by large tracts of ciniferous forest, the highest peak of the fell stands 530m above sea level and in winter, rich snows blown in from the Atlantic, clad the summits as early as October.
