Hakuba ski resort, well-known as the site of the Olympic games, is just 15mins drive from the resort. Goryu-tohmi ski area is on-site with 6 ski-lifts and a tele-cabin (mini-gondola) which offers 9 runs-the longest is nearly 3 miles. In summer, go hiking, golf, tennis, fishing, cycling and more. Early summer, hiking to Jizo-no- kashira with 2005m tele-cabin ride taking in the panoramic view of Nihon-Alps & many Alpine plants, is especially recommended. Hakuba Museum at Misorano, 10 mins drive from resort, has 120 of Chagall's lithogeaphs and etchings on display.
